Write a reflection on this quote: 'In a time when there is hunger
for innovation everywhere, we think our primary responsibility is to
help prepare a generation of students to rise with the challenges of our
times' (d.school). How and why do you intend to create an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset in your pupils? Or why not?
Being innovative is all about being dynamic in contrast to being static. Everything will change ongoingly and me personally will never feel the need to remain the same - most likely because I was brought up in an athletic environment where improvement would never stop. There will always something to do better in one sense or the other.
The same goes for ideas, or thoughts or education for that matter.
There's an interesting quote that clearly illustrates what innovational thoughts can
give you when you collaborate: "I met a man with a dollar, we exchanged dollars and we still
had a dollar. I met a man with an idea, we exchanged ideas and now we
both have 2 ideas."
We as teachers, need to try to educate our students in a form where they understand that nothing is ever complete, and the history of technology and civilization in general has only improved because of the innovational thoughts lead by innovative individuals - creating fire, light bulb, and airplanes were not introduced to the world civilization by static people with static thoughts that the world would remain the same. Rather it was introduced by optimistic innovative people coming up with new ways to get by.
